Urban Survival Tip #1: Make sure you have at least one rifle in .223 Remington caliber. The .223 is not the best defense cartridge, but it is what the military and police use. Ammo is cheap and easy to find. If things go to "hell-in-a-handbasket", the .223 (5.56mm NATO) will get the workout. It does not matter if the rifle is bolt action or semi-auto. Every person in your home over 12 years old should know how to shoot all three. This is fine and dandy, but you really need a four gun battery. Add the 22 rifle as the 4th. If things go to "hell-in-a-handbasket", the 22 rifle will be the food getter. The 22 is excellent for small game that is more easy to find.
